This is an ensemble superhero book. The main cast includes a bisexual Japanese American teen girl, an ethnically Jewish teen girl, a Latino teen who identifies as Catholic, and a lesbian girl who is a white-passing alien.
There are multiple instances in which adult characters are shown to manipulate, coerce, or otherwise to harm to child and / or teen characters in their care.
This title is a continuation of Runaways (2003), but can be read separately from that series.
