Runaways (2017)

The “it” book of the early 2000s is back, with the original cast — Nico! Karolina! Molly! Chase! Old Lace! And could it be…Gert?! The heart of the Runaways died years ago — but you won’t believe how she returns! Superstar author Rainbow Rowell teams with fan-favorite artist Kris Anka to revive the series you can rely on to shock you and break your heart! Did Chase and Gert’s love survive their time apart? Have Karolina and Nico’s feelings made their friendship impossible? And should you be more worried about the emotional land mines lying in wait — or the shadowy scientist watching the ragtag group from a distance? Plus: What’s in Chase’s backpack? And what’s up with Princess Powerful, A.K.A. the best Marvel character of all time, Molly Hayes?

Notes on This Title

This is an ensemble superhero book. The main cast includes a bisexual Japanese American teen girl, an ethnically Jewish teen girl, a Latino teen who identifies as Catholic, and a lesbian girl who is a white-passing alien.

There are multiple instances in which adult characters are shown to manipulate, coerce, or otherwise to harm to child and / or teen characters in their care.

This title is a continuation of Runaways (2003), but can be read separately from that series.
